Bugong

I love good fusion food. And having seen kimchi, chicken & thai noodles all under one roof, I decided to try Bugong.

The menu appears to be a myriad of thai & korean influenced cooking, but their roast chicken is the star of the show. Marinated with 18 different herbs & spices, and with no MSG or artificial flavour enhancers, it is available in whole, family or regular sizes. The meals however, come in quarter or single(1/8) cuts.

You can choose from 3 types of rice.

They also offer an extensive breakfast menu like toasted bagels served with coffee.

Side dishes of fruit salad, kimchi & macaroni salad.

For dessert why not try some red velvet cupcakes? Recently they are also offering thai halo halo as a refreshingly sweet end to your meal.

The restaurant is mostly bathed in a festive orange hue.

A cute herb garden to brighten up the interior.

Some Thai influenced decors.

Macaroni and cheese with breaded chicken fillet - 80 php

Cheese sauce on penne pasta. You can also opt for sliced sausages as an alternative topping.

Bugong Asian Combo - 112 php (single) 148 php (quarter)

One of their best sellers, the Bugong Asian combo. Roast chicken served with asian fresh noodles and choice of seasoned rice. I had the single serving of chicken and chose kimchi rice for my plate; the rice was quite spicy and it seemed to have some shrimp paste mixed in which made for a pungent aftertaste. Quite interesting.

Each plate comes with a glass of iced tea. Good value for money and equally filling, but chicken patrons would be better off  to consider getting a bigger cut of the roast :)
